My Adventures in Sewing

It’s Not Perfect, but it’s Perfectly Homemade

Posted on: February 26, 2011

It has been quite a while since I have posted, but life is happening & I’m trying not to miss it.  🙂  Alot going on, however, today I found some time to sew.  My cousin is having a new baby any minute now & I wanted to send some cute baby bibs.  I did follow a pattern, Simplicity 2468, and selected 2 views: a crab & a turtle.  I completed the crab (less the eyes) today & plan on making to turtle tomorrow.

The pattern was relatively easy to follow (being a newbie, I find some of the pattern-speak very confusing).  I had a little trouble with one of the neck-ties (as you will see in the photo),  It got a little twisted when I tried to make sure it wasn’t in the way of getting sewn over, however, I figure it adds a little character & proves that I made it myself 😉  —  It’s not perfect, but it’s perfectly homemade.  That’s a great name for a blog —– maybe I’ll change mine…….

I will be sure to post some pics tomorrow, along with photos of some great giveaway gifts I have received 🙂
